MindYoga helps you to step back and find clarity

by cultivating your “Witness”

the observer within you

So if you want to move from your head to your heart...

MindYoga teaches you the way

Let's Begin
01

Witnessing

At the heart of MindYoga is the Witnessing practice. It’s about stepping back and observing your thoughts, emotions and reactions—without getting swept away by them.

01

Polarities

Every emotional reaction has a hidden opposite. The Polarities practice reveals both sides—so you can see the full picture, loosen old patterns and respond with freedom instead of reflex.

01

Triangles

The Triangles practice is a 3-minute tool that opens the heart and makes elevated states like compassion, gratitude and joy a lived experience. It takes any emotional tug-of-war and finds the higher ground—the heart state that holds and transcends both sides.

01

Squares

The Squares practice is a technique for resolving unconscious blocks, clarifying decisions, and even healing the body—faster than you’d imagine. It stops the endless cycle of overthinking by making every perspective conscious, so the right path forward can reveal itself naturally.

"Whenever I had a reaction that felt way out of proportion to what actually happened, I learned to recognize it as a sign to look within and stop blaming the circumstances around me. That over-the-top anger or victimhood never was about the situation — it was my own stuff, and these practices gave me the tools to clear my old habitual reactions. The root cause of unhappiness is blaming the world for our circumstances. MindYoga taught me to reclaim what I'd projected outward—a life-changing transformation!”

Mark H,
USA

“At the heart of these practices is developing and maintaining a neutral witness. This allows us to observe the egoic polarities without identifying with them. It has served me enormously for many years on a daily basis—especially through the dramatic ups and downs of the times we live in.”

Patti B,
USA

“The biggest gift I’ve received from MindYoga is unraveling of my oldest knot/wound from early childhood (18 months). I’ve worked on this with daily writing and therapy for 25 years. Now, my witness feels unencumbered by the past, and the space between my ears feels vast and in present time. I’m so grateful.”

Glen G,
USA

"These practices make so much sense. I see polarities everywhere these days, so looking within for them feels natural. I've been amazed at how these simple tools guide me to uncover hidden attachments and shadows, gradually loosening their grip on my life. Every session feels like another layer lifts—leaving me lighter, more peaceful, and more present."

June H,
USA

“Squares completely changed the way I make decisions. The practice has helped me see that even the outcomes I fear can hold something good. I've found peace in every possible outcome—and let go. There's less anxiety and more trust in my intuition instead of the stories my mind creates. I especially needed that clarity during a major career change, when leaving my family business to build my own path.”

Maria K,
Brazil

“Polarities are a short-cut to the Neutral Witness. When I observe my response to something and name it, I can then name its opposite. That alerts me to the fact that I'm not centered! I'm not in my Neutral Witness! I am Ugly vs. I am Beautiful. I let them both go. And then the truth is: I am.”

Ruth C,
USA

“MindYoga practices provide a profound road-map for bringing the mind into right relationship with the Body and Soul. These illumined teachings and easy to incorporate practices are a gift of enlightened wisdom ready to be shared with a world that is desperately seeking a graceful transformation.”

Victoria M,
USA

“Squares are extremely simple and very effective at working through challenging situations. When I’m stuck on a problem, Squares often help me realize how I truly feel about a subject. It’s fascinating!”

Alex A,
USA

“My husband died, and within months I faced an avalanche of loss, betrayal and old triggers—including losing my home. At my breaking point, I did a Square on desire to feel safe / fear of the violent male—and a trauma I'd buried for 46 years surfaced and cleared. Hours later, a perfect home fell into my lap: safe, private and exactly what I could afford. No matter what comes up, these practices have prepared me to handle anything and create my ideal reality.”

Kelly R,
USA

"I was aware of my suffering, but not the system of duality running underneath it. Once I saw the oscillating Polarities, the Witness appeared. Naming them gave me an easy tool to work through pain on my own—from the Witness, not the victim. I could recognize both energies, take responsibility, and find the center."

Silvana K,
Brazil

“I have used polarities as a go-to tool for years. As soon as I realize that I have an issue circling in my mind, I identify it, name its opposite, offer it up and—POOF! It’s gone. The proof to me is that my mind no longer circles. What a blessing.”

Carol V,
USA

“These practices are beautiful, profound, unique and as relevant today as when first shared decades ago: tools to process polarized consciousness and make the unconscious conscious. Effective, efficient, revelatory, integrative. What a blessing!”

Mary Elizabeth M,
Canada

“I use the Witness all the time. Not from a place of being dispassionate but staying neutral... I catch it early and pause and breathe rather than immediately react. Of course I still have some triggers, but I see these as my edge of continued growth and learning and practice. It is the balance of letting go yet still being passionate about certain subjects... It is such a relief to not play that egoic game anymore... Doing these processes, particularly doing Squares with a group, is the best way to do MindYoga. We all benefit from witnessing all the sides of a polarity. Others help us see our unconscious side.”

Carole H,
USA

“The Polarities practice has helped me live my life from a witness place. I find the polarity that I’m  identified with and its opposite. By welcoming a cleared emotional state, I am constantly returned to truth. No more matrix for me!”

Gayle G,
USA

"I've been using the Squares technique for a while now, and I'm blown away by how quickly it up-levels my awareness and shifts deep, long-standing patterns. As someone with a master's in counseling psychology and a long-time meditation practice, I've tried a lot of approaches. I love how simple this is, yet it gets right to the root. I almost always come away from a session with a real sense of movement and progress. Over time, my Witness has felt much more accessible. As unconscious material moves through, I'm less reactive and a lot kinder and more present in my relationships. Simple, deep, effective.”

RJH,
USA

“I loved learning about being the Witness. Now when I respond in anger to things happening around me, I see that I am not the anger, and it passes through me.”

Tshego M,
South Africa

“I used to immediately focus on the worst-case scenario whenever something felt threatening. Then I started sharpening my Witnessing practice to catch the negative loop early, before it could entrench itself. Simply becoming aware that I'm poised to plunge down the spiral halts the process. Now I'm usually able to withdraw from the ledge. The key is never judging or suppressing the reaction. Just observe. Feelings pass through us like clouds through the sky. With practice, this frees enormous amounts of energy that was stuck in old, tightly held patterns. And you experience the lightness of being.”

Tanya S,
USA

"MindYoga gave me tools for the places I'd normally feel stuck—especially in difficult relationships. The polarity work helps me call back projections and clear reactive patterns on the fly, and I can actually feel the energetic shift in my body when it releases. But the biggest gift has been realizing that when I shift internally, the field around me shifts too. I've watched others soften and change without my needing to explain, confront, or process anything with them. That's been incredibly empowering."

Helané W,
USA

“MindYoga, like physical yogic practice, has been a stabilizing, alchemical, and mystical process that has created peace and clarity through life's ups and downs... Little did I know that this work would also provide greater access to a repository of inner gifts and resources beyond my ordinary capacity... But most importantly, this practice has offered a humbling and deeply rewarding adventure that restored my connection to the ‘quiet voice within’.”

Beth D,
USA

“I was helping at an event recently. Several times I felt the heaviness of things not going the way I expected—my reactive loop. My prayer beforehand was to be in lightheartedness, and Witnessing gave me the grace to notice my reaction, then let it go. This felt like a miracle.”

Philomene K,
Canada

“MindYoga has been a pillar in how I was brought up to process feelings, confusion and frustration in all my relationships. The Clearing practices and the Witnessing practice have helped me through pivotal moments where decisions were difficult, relationships were challenging, and expressing my true self felt impossible. Now 30, as I step into big changes ahead, I feel grateful to have such profound tools to lean on.”

Shanti R,
USA

“I simply do not know who I would have become without these practices. Processing through Squares created and strengthened an ability to move into Witness perspective. Acceptance and love grew from this empowerment. Love is the answer over and over. Flushing out aspects that cloud the ability to love, through the pages and pages of Squares in countless journals—freed me, in spite of the many dark, testing situations life presented, into a life I truly love. ”

Martha V,
Canada

"The greatest gift from the Witnessing practice is that I no longer need to battle myself to find peace. By approaching different parts of me with curiosity rather than trying to make one side win, I found an inner ease that was once beyond my reach. During a heated argument, I caught myself stepping back and observing my thoughts from a distance. I took a pause—and that brief gap disrupted my usual pattern. The situation didn't escalate the way it always had. What surprised me most was realizing the real challenge wasn't about who was right—it was about understanding the pattern we were both trapped in. That shift brought relief. Instead of staying stuck in judgment, I began to see options for responding differently."

Nhlanhla M,
South Africa

“Developing the Witness, doing squares and learning about polarities has changed my life. I have worked with them for over 30 years. They have helped me through many challenging times and helped me take total responsibility for my life. These practices continue to bring me balance and peace as I use them. Yes, they are simple, but they are also incredibly powerful.”

Melody M,
USA

“MindYoga is an excellent tool for clearing the mind and training the Witness—bringing inner peace and settling the emotional body. The most exciting part is then observing how the outer world shifts. Perspectives change as these shifts happen, and ultimately life becomes more joyful!”

Ruth U,
South Africa

“Integrating the Witness was one of the most helpful teachings on my path. It quiets my mind and helps to concentrate on the present time as well as letting go of the judge. It is most helpful in family settings and business meetings. It grounds oneself in neutrality. I started working with the MindYoga practices in 1995, and the Squares are still one of the most powerful ones to release a very stuck imprint or belief. You can really feel the letting go.”

Denise M,
France

“I find the MindYoga practices empowering and liberating. Witnessing supports me to gently step out of judgment—both of myself and of others. Instead of getting caught up in reactions, I observe what's happening with compassion and neutrality. I use the Polarities practice when my mind gets stuck in loops of fear, worry and self-doubt. Simply listing the opposites immediately broadens my perspective—the fear eases, my mind settles and I can release it. And there's nothing like a Squares process during a sleepless night for a calm body-and-mind reset—the perfect foundation for falling back to sleep!”

Lynette R,
South Africa

“These practices, especially Witnessing, help me feel like everything is alright and I am more free.”

Max A,
USA

"The MindYoga practices are some of the most powerful tools I’ve come across for shifting consciousness and creating change. I’ve used them for myself and with clients for years with consistent, amazing results."

Miriam S,
Norway

“Since learning about MindYoga, I’ve been using the polarities exercise whenever I have negative, repetitive thoughts. It’s amazing how well it works—my thoughts align and my mind is silenced immediately after finishing the exercise.”

Stefano M,
Brazil

“I believe that in a world with so much information, the search for what's essential becomes more valuable every day. I've been on this journey of self-development for many years, and MindYoga's tools have been the most effective, and at the same time the simplest and most powerful, for my own journey of transformation. I'm so happy that today they are accessible to more people around the world, so they can transform their lives the way they transformed mine.”

Giulia M,
Brazil

“In 1997, I'd been a meditator and student of personal transformation for over 20 years when I was introduced to these practices. Almost 30 years later, they have helped me clear so many underlying patterns. Now streamlined for our time as MindYoga, a new generation of seekers will find tools that illuminate their path and accelerate their awakening.”

Jane B,
USA

“I have worked with these practices for over 30 years and find myself returning to them whenever I’m stuck. Just start and keep starting again, and you will see your life transform. They’re for anyone who wants to live a more joyful and fulfilling life."

Becky H,
USA

“Over 30 years ago, this process seemed so simple I almost dismissed it—today, I'm profoundly grateful I didn't. MindYoga breaks the trauma-loop that keeps you trapped in survival mode, dropping you out of mental worry and straight into the heart space where trust and creativity live. As a practitioner of other holistic modalities for three decades, I can say this plainly: MindYoga is the foundation that taught me how to be truly present. Its simplicity and depth can save years of therapy, bringing you home to your authentic self and restoring the innocence of your spirit.”

Jan A,
USA

“Before MindYoga, I believed every thought that came to mind as the truth—and it held power over me. These practices help you see the whole truth: the conscious and the unconscious. They're so easy to use—a simple polarity shift can happen on the go, and a deeper Square practice is there when I have time. What I'm most grateful for is understanding the functioning of the ego through these practices.”

Hélène L,
Canada

“These teachings are condensed spiritual knowledge—exercises that reveal subtle unconscious misunderstandings laid down in early childhood that keep us stuck in old patterns. Just this morning I found a rock-bottom defensive belief that was magnetizing my reality. By doing a Square with it, I was able to update and integrate it. These practices are so easy and profound.”

Shannon P,
USA

“MindYoga was my daily practice for 15 years. Then I took a leap—bringing these teachings into my work as a Consultant/Coach, adapting them into experiential exercises for groups. I'm grateful every day for the strong foundation, depth, and elegant simplicity these practices give me. I bow in gratitude!”

Diana Claire D,
Canada

“MindYoga has changed my life forever—life-long tools allowing me not only to learn about myself but to unlearn old patterns that no longer serve. Now I survive challenges with confidence and live in joy.”

Charu R,
USA

“At this time of world crises and deep division—us versus them—MindYoga's practices feel more essential than ever. They bring what's unconscious into consciousness, clearing the conditioned mind's reactivity so we can live from our true nature: pure awareness. I've worked with these practices since 1995 and have seen their lasting effects. I'm deeply grateful they prepared me for this moment—so I can bring healing, loving energy to the world and live from my essential being.”

Diane S,
USA

“I was deep in a nine-year, codependent, dysfunctional and abusive relationship—in such constant anxiety I couldn't see myself clearly. Then I started practicing Squares and was shocked to uncover parts of myself I hadn't wanted to admit, like the fear that if I ended the relationship no one else would ever love me. I also did polarity lists that illuminated emotions toward my partner I'd never consciously acknowledged. Within six weeks of beginning these simple but powerful practices, the relationship ended. I feel free and vibrant again. The letting go was challenging and painful, but it was necessary for my well-being and growth—and it all started with MindYoga.”

Kate P,
USA

“I'm addicted to the Square practice. Whenever I feel stuck, I pick the pivotal point of the situation, find its opposite, and process it through the Square. Sometimes I do it mentally while walking—and the moment I offer it up, I feel the relief in my body and mind. It's so revealing, and helps me discern exactly what I need to do—usually very quickly. Highly recommended!”

Ivana P,
Brazil

“I was running out of money with bills due and no way to pay them. The fear was so intense I couldn't sleep—just constant anxiety. I used the MindYoga clearing practices and was able to witness the fear and the thoughts running in my mind. Once I really implemented the Witnessing practice, everything shifted. The anxiety dropped away, my stress dissolved, and I found peace in myself again.”

Where does MindYoga originate?

MindYoga started with a question at a dinner party in 1971. A young artist named Leslie Temple-Thurston, living in apartheid South Africa, suddenly saw through all the divisions that keep us stuck — right and wrong, logic and intuition, us and them. With her country being ripped apart by racism, she glimpsed a way to unify opposites rather than be torn apart by them. That moment set her on a decades-long journey through spiritual psychology and the ancient yoga of the mind, culminating in a two-year "cave experience"—not in the Himalayas, but in the middle of Los Angeles. What emerged were four deceptively simple practices—Witnessing, Polarities, Triangles, and Squares. She taught them to a small circle of students. One of them, Brad Laughlin, spent the next 35+ years quietly spreading the work, co-authoring The Marriage of Spirit with Leslie, and watching thousands of lives transform. In 2023, everything aligned, and MindYoga was born — those same four practices, distilled from the book into short, accessible videos anyone can use.

Where should I begin?

Start with the five videos on this site: Introduction to MindYoga, Witnessing, Polarities, Triangles, and Squares. They're short, and they'll give you everything you need to understand how the practices work. Then just try them. Don't overthink it. Don't wait until you "get it" intellectually—the practices are meant to be done, not studied. Pay attention to any shifts in how you feel, how you react, how you move through your day. If something's clicking and you want to go deeper—make it a daily rhythm, work through what comes up, practice alongside others—the community is there when you're ready.

How is MindYoga different from physical yoga?

Physical yoga (hatha yoga) works on the body to reach the mind. MindYoga works on the mind to reach everything else. Hatha yoga—when it's not being treated as a glute workout—is an ancient path of Self-discovery. It prepares the physical body to hold more light and energy, so you can come to know your own inner divinity. MindYoga is the same kind of path, just from the other direction. Instead of using the body as a doorway, it gives you direct tools to observe your own mind and clear the patterns that keep you stuck. No mat, no spandex, no flexibility required. The two practices aren't rivals—they're different doors into the same room. In fact, they're natural companions: hatha yoga opens the body to hold more light, and MindYoga clears the mind so that light can actually land here—in your body, in your life, in the world of matter. If you already do physical yoga, MindYoga will deepen it. If you don't, you've skipped nothing.

‍

Do I need any prior experience with meditation or yoga?

Nope. MindYoga meets you where you are. If you've never sat still for 30 seconds, that's fine. If you've done a decade of Vipassana meditation, also fine. The framework adapts to the practitioner, not the other way around.
